What to Expect
Each patient is individually evaluated for a specific treatment plan. When you first arrive we will ask you to fill out a few forms to get some health care history (click here to fill them out in advance). The evaluation lasts approximately 45 minutes. The doctor will discuss your presenting concerns as well as your previous care. The doctor will then begin a physical exam which includes a physical assessment of affected areas. The doctor will then discuss chiropractic adjustment and the patient’s comfort level.
Some patients who are new to chiropractic may feel anxious about certain adjustments. The doctor does not adjust without permission from the client. After the first adjustment the doctor will discuss the treatment expectations for the patient’s particular ailment. Typically if a patient has an acute issue the patient will return within 3-5 days for an additional assessment and adjustment (15 minute appointment). After the second visit the doctor will begin extending the time between visits until the patient can hold the adjustment permanently (typically 4-6 weeks between visits). All treatment is performed in a private treatment room, no “open room adjustments”. Patients are only asked to wear gowns in rare circumstances.
